🏡Izzy S.O shares anthemic new single 'Homesick'🏡

Getting to grips with change can be notoriously challenging. Homesick is your reminder to look forward and trust yourself. Slick nostalgic guitars met with Izzy S.O’s gorgeous vocals make Homesick an endlessly playable and empowering next move.

Sharing more behind the track, Izzy explained: ‘Homesick’ is about that free falling feeling when you’re no longer tied to the things that made you feel safe. It’s an observation of the fear whilst fully knowing you’re in the right place and that these changes are good.

Homesick was written at the start of last year when I was going through some big life changes. It was a really scary time but there was also this undercurrent of excitement about this unknown future. Listening back to it today makes me feel proud of where I am now . It makes me want to give my younger self a hug to remind her that she’s strong enough to do all the things.’

Homesick is the final single to be released ahead of Izzy’s upcoming new EP, also titled Homesick, which will arrive on the 9th of August.

Today’s new single is the follow up single to ‘Crisis’ which arrived back in April. The euphoric guitar banger reflected on a challenging relationship and embraced being single. Crisis was the third single that Izzy S.O has treated fans to this year and each release sees her go from strength to strength.

‘I Swear I Made You Up’ arrived at the start of March. The raw and captivating track was warmly received by press including The Line of Best Fit who labeled Izzy S.O as an ‘an innovative rising voice’ and described ‘I Swear I Made You Up’ as ‘Crooning guitars and rhythmic drumbeats’ that ‘ruminate gently, allowing each line to hit with a powerful transparency’.

2024 looks to be a great year for rising Izzy S.O as she continues to establish herself further with each move. She kicked off the year with Refuse back in January and the angsty offering didn’t go unnoticed. Clash Magazine described her sound as ‘90s production with Gen Z bedroom pop’ whilst describing Izzy herself as ‘an absolute powerhouse’.

Izzy S.O’s been working hard and bringing her A game since she launched and things are beginning to fall into place big time. Back In November last year she released her sophomore EP ‘Silly Me’. The impressive 5-track body of work was a powerful coming of age moment that scooped much support amongst tastemakers. Ones To Watch described it as ‘a sonic rampage through adolescence’ whilst Clash magazine made comparisons of ‘prime Garbage singles, or even Alanis Morrisette’, putting the London-based youngster in the spotlight as a talent to watch.

Born in the West Midlands, Izzy S.O was raised in a creative household with plenty of space for musical expression. As a huge lover of books, she naturally gravitated towards poetry writing as a creative catharsis. Later this evolved into a natural talent for lyricism and over the pandemic she had the opportunity to develop herself sonically with producer Dustin Dooley.

With two brilliant EP’s out in the wild, Izzy has cemented her sound which toes a line between pop-rock and indie with nods towards grunge. She’s scooped support from the likes of Clash, Ones To Watch, Fizzy Mag, Noctis, A1234 and not to mention multiple plays on Radio 1 and BBC Introducing!

Pulling inspiration from the female greats such as Alanis Morisette, Mazzy Star and Avril Lavigne, Izzy’s authentic expression and gift for storytelling has been winning many hearts along the way. ‘I hope that my music can help people in the ways that songs have helped me in the past.’
